Biography
Uli (Ulrike) Ostermann was born in Germany. She received her M.A. in Educational Sciences from the University of Muenster, Germany in 1983. In 1993 she became a member of the BBK (Association of Professional Artists - Plastic Arts.)
In 1997 Uli Ostermann immigrated to Canada with her husband and three daughters. She currently lives and works in British Columbia.
She has exhibited her work internationally and her paintings are in various public and private collections in Germany, the Netherlands, the United States and Canada.
Artist's Note
My style gradually changes into clearer lines and the choice of colors becomes more reduced.
On the one hand I love to be spontaneous while I am creative, on the other hand I also work hard to transform complex thoughts into simple ways of expression (see paintings: Power, Birthday, Child.)
My themes are predominantly about inner processes in the human psyche, especially changes. My educational and European background, raising three children bilingually as well as constantly adapting to new situations in life became the source of my inspirations.
